phrasal verbs quiz

Hi Thom.
Did you have a pleasant week-end? I am still a bit isolated because of my wrecked car and I haven´t got a phone yet, therefore,no internet and no cable T.V.,but I had a very nice week-end reading a lot and falling asleep pretty late with the headphones on my ears listening to music. There is an excellent radio station you may have heard of,Futuro 88.90 F.m.PLenty of rock music and very little advertising.I reckon one of these days I´ll have some news about my car.It was a write-off and it seems they are going to pay me.That´s good news and, changing subject,I´ve got 11 out of 12 in the phrasal verbs quiz.
See you
Juan.

Hi Juan,

Thanks for your post and well done in the phrasal verbs quiz - it's a long process learning all the phrasal verbs that exist in English and from a methodological point of view I still haven't decided whether it's better to learn them in sets (like we did with the ones relating to clothes and shopping), or in isolation as they occur naturally in texts or conversation.

Good news about your car too - I hope they don't drag their heels too much when it comes to paying you!

By the way, you may be interested to know your scores in the placement test you did...

You scored 64% on the first part - completing the words... and 82% on the second part - the multiple choice questions. This is about right for your level as the test is supposed to discriminate between all levels from absolute beginner to proficiency. Thanks for taking the time to do it.
